A Masterclass in How Not to Run a Rental Company Huge shoutout to Enterprise Rent-A-Car Urmston for providing what can only be described as a spectacularly terrible experience. I had a van booked for 4 days, nice and early at 9am on my moving day. Naturally, they waited until 08:45, a whole 15 minutes before pickup, to give me the thrilling plot twist that the van had just developed a brake pad fault. What timing! Almost like it was… predictable? But no, I’m sure it was pure coincidence. They then generously offered to “try” to find another van, but couldn’t confirm a time. Perfect! Because when you’re moving house, who doesn’t love a bit of last-minute mystery and suspense? Long story short: if you enjoy being stranded, stressed, and spectacularly let down, Enterprise Urmston is absolutely the place for you. If you prefer reliability, maybe try literally anyone else.
I booked a small van one week in advance . Despite this, I was informed both the day before and on the pickup day that only a big van was available. I clearly explained multiple times that I cannot drive a big van and do not have parking for it, and requested a small van or small car. What was most upsetting was being told repeatedly that I booked the “cheapest option” and Enterprise could not guarantee the vehicle. This was hurtful and unprofessional. I booked the option that met my needs, and I booked well in advance. If vehicles are not guaranteed, this should be made clear at booking—not at the last minute. I am a regular customer with 10+ bookings every year, and this experience completely spoiled our holiday plans. I expected much better from Enterprise.
