Customer Reviews
I stayed at Rahman Hostel for five nights, and overall I had a positive experience. This hostel is best suited for backpackers, especially those staying for a short period (one or two nights). If you are looking for hotel-level comfort and luxury, this may not be the right place — it’s all about having the right expectations. I stayed in an 8-bed dormitory, which was clean and well maintained. There were two shared bathrooms, both spacious and consistently clean. Cleanliness is clearly a priority for the staff. Naturally, if some guests don’t respect shared spaces, that’s not something the hostel management can fully control. One of the biggest strengths of this hostel is its perfect location: just 2 minutes on foot from the central train station and about 5 minutes walking from the city centre and nightlife areas. Everything is easily reachable without the need for public transport. The Wi-Fi worked well, there is a comfortable space to eat, and the luggage storage service was efficient and reliable, which made my stay even more convenient. In conclusion, if you’re a flexible traveler who values location, cleanliness, and practicality over luxury, this hostel offers good value. For me, it was a positive experience, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay.
I'm not sure why everyone is complaining so much about this place. It's an 'old school' hostel. Everything is a bit rickety and cheap, random cracks in tiles etc everywhere. But the beds are clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating and, most importantly, it's the cheapest place in Manchester. I'd rather it was a bit more rickety and a bit cheaper if I'm honest. You want a spotless place that charges £9999 a night? Great, go to 'premier-inn' or whatever. You want a cheap bed in the city centre, stay here. I had a bicycle and the staff let me leave it in the lobby so it didn't get stolen overnight AND they 'upgraded' me to a different dorm with fewer beds for free when I arrived. All-in-all a positive experience I'd say. Thanks guys!
Not as bad as other reviews would have me believe. Room was a little run down but nothing out of the ordinary for a cheap hostel and the bedding and bathroom were clean. I was concerned about potential bedbugs but our room on the second floor was clear. Still I'd advise people to search for themselves before going to bed.
