About

A long-standing GP practice in Manchester, Bodey Medical Centre has served generations of local families. The practice is known for its continuity of care, with patients often staying registered for decades under different GPs. Many note the reception team’s willingness to accommodate urgent appointments when needed. The centre provides standard GP services, including consultations with doctors and nurses, as well as online appointment booking. Some patients highlight specific GPs like Dr Samreen Azim for their approach to care. The practice has maintained a reputation for attentive patient support since its early days under founding GP Dr Bodey.

I use to enjoy being a patient here until I can’t even get an appointment to be one, I’ve tried online using the form and before I can even access the form all appointments are gone. This has been the case for 3 days where I have also rang and explained my issue, the receptionist recommended 111 or a walking clinic. Really unhappy, sounds like there are too many patients compared to staff. Typical for Manchester recently.

The Bodey Medical Centre is the embodiment of why our NHS was created. Compassion for their patients and the family that care for them. I found myself in a situation, where my father needed an urgent care plan, and I didn't know what to do, I felt as if I was drowning. I call my dad's GP surgery for help because I didn't know what to do. The initial call to the receptionist, was so calming and reassuring. Within 10 mins after that phone call, the Dr Patel called me and asked about my concerns for my dad. As I was explaining the circumstances, she paused the conversation and enquired if I had support and about my well being. That for me, was the most beautiful gesture that will stay with me forever. After getting all the information she needed, Dr Patel contacted the Crisis team. Within 15 mins of my ending the all with Dr Patel, I received a call from the crisis team. It took less than 4 hrs, from my initial phone call to the surgery, to my dad having a complete care plan in place and equipment installed for his safety. A perfect example of team work, that worked hand in hand with each other and have given my father and I the best outcome. I would like all who were involved in the creation of my dad's care, to know how grateful my family and I are, because if it wasn't for your actions, my father may not be here today. Thank you

Huge thanks to the receptionist team for always getting me in to see a doctor, even if I haven't mastered how to fill the online form in. Nonemoreso than yesterday when I felt extremely poorly and they got me into see Dr Jonny Han. Immediately he listened to my symptoms and suggested that he needed to call an ambulance for me. He rearranged all his next two hour appointments and shared them with the other doctors and nurses at the centre. He then did not leave my side until the ambulance arrived. What a brilliant young doctor. He made me feel that there was noone more important for the entire centre team right at that moment. Thanks reception team, a huge thanks to Dr Han and to the whole of the team
