About
A restaurant serving modern British dishes with a focus on steaks and small plates. The menu includes starters like Cumberland sausage and scallops, along with pork cheeks and chicken mains. Cocktails and a wine selection are available. Groups are accommodated, with staff noted for managing larger bookings. Sunday lunches are served, and there are occasional small plate options suitable for sharing. The space hosts birthday gatherings and casual meals, with a selection of white wines served chilled. Some diners opt for steak or salmon as main courses.
Customer Reviews
Went for lunch here with a friend. The food was nice, the only thing I would say is the menu (especially the starters) seemed a bit limited. I can imagine that in the evening the ambience is lovely, however there weren't many of us in and we were separated from the hustle and bustle (of what I presume) of the bar area, which seemed a shame when it was so quiet. The staff didn't seem very engaging. We got our bottle of wine dumped on the table without being opened. And then couldn't get into the bottle. Overall it was quite a nice experience.
Booked for a friend's birthday. Group of 8 of us, 7 of them had never been before. A few had starters - the Cumberland Sausage and Scallops were very well received! For mains, a couple had steak, 1 had salmon and the rest of us had the Penny Blue burger. All cooked to everyone's taste. The staff were amazing and were not flustered at all with all of our requests for drinks - felt like we kept them busy!! Big thanks to Nikole and Charlotte, brilliant service! The 7 of them that had not been before have all said they will definitely be back!
We dined midweek and early so atmosphere was a flat but everything else was very good. Two small plates, scallops and the pork cheeks and a lovely chicken main dish. Service was good and a decent wine list.
