About

This Indian restaurant serves tapas-style dishes with bold flavours, including lamb chops, gunpowder chicken and black dhal. The bunny chow and treacle dishes are among the options, alongside cheese on toast and chip butty variations. The lunch box is another choice for those wanting smaller portions. Known as the sticky, one dish stands out for its distinctive texture. Originally from Liverpool, the chain has brought its approach to Indian street food to Manchester, with dishes that encourage sharing. Staff engage with diners about the menu.

Visited Mowgli today and had a really enjoyable meal. We ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, lamb curry, two rotis, a paratha and a beer; the food was full of flavour and nicely presented. The bill came to around £50, which is slightly on the higher side for what we had considering the small portion size . The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the service from the waiters was absolutely top notch – attentive, friendly and professional throughout. Overall, a great place for a treat or a night out; would happily recommend it if you’re looking for quality Indian food in a beautiful setting.

A really special place. Staff couldn't have been nicer- we booked and got placed in a booth. It would have been fine but the seating had a raised ledge at the back with no back rest- if you are larger or have mobility issues (both at play here) these are not the seats you want. Staff moved us, no fuss, thank you! Plenty of exciting vegetarian options (most appreciated), the black dhal was incredible, we ordered extra roti during our meal which arrived quickly. The seasonal dish Diwali cauliflower was disappointing- boiled, rather than roasted and was pretty bland. The pani puri excellent as ever and the sticky chicken apparently very nice. Our waitress was lovely and stayed and chatted when giving our bill and said she would feed back our cauliflower comments. All in all, enjoyable, great location, wonderful staff. For a 'chain' restaurant, the whole experience felt special.

I placed an order online on Tuesday, and while some of the food was actually quite tasty, when I came to open my toddler’s gunpowder chicken, I was horrified to see it covered in melted plastic!! I’m guessing it’s from a plastic sauce pot, I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to put something plastic inside a hot box of food and then place it in a hot hold! So disappointed as we would’ve been regular customers if it hadn’t been for the disregard for health and safety!
