When short of time I pop in for a quick evening meal. Things appear to be getting worse. I asked for Singapore Vermicelli to be told by the man that they only had Singapore Noodles. I agreed and specified "no bean shoots/sprouts". I was asked if I washed to have prawns. I said yes. What I got was Chilli Powder with Singapore Noodles. Made in a proper Chinese Restaurant or Takeaway Singapore Vermicelli/Noodles would contain a variety of meats including prawns, vegetables, spring onions and green or red chillies which can be left aside if too spicy. I had no choice in the level of spicy as it appeared to have had an entire tub of chilli powder emptied in. Additionally that is the third time the SumUp card reader does not accept "Chip and Pin" and insists on "Contactless". Although during the Pandemic "Contactless" became mandatory since "Chip and Pin" has been available again. The SumUp device has a slot to read a bank card but it may be that it isn't enabled. "Contactless" provides the "Merchant" far too much Customer Information including CVV2 which should only be the secure prerogative of the Merchant's UK Bank. The sooner the establishment is taken over by professionals with trained and certified Chefs the better. It is the only Takeaway in the area.
Really nice food. The lady behind the counter was very polite and ran through the order back to us to make sure it was right. The food was very fresh and had great flavour. Really clean shop/kitchen too.
Ordered a special chow mein, got it home and it was just pure salt, took it back after a few vile mouthfuls and the man was lovely and said it was the sauce so made me another. Got it home and was tasteless and not 1 single prawn in it. Will not be back after 2 bad meals within 30 minutes. Gutted as was lovely in the past!
