An enormous selection of baked goodness, a very pleasing find. Will definitely be back. We went early on a Saturday morning but it gets busy quickly so we were lucky to get a table as it was quiet when we arrived.

Delicious food. Excellent service. Very friendly and welcoming. We went for lunch and enjoyed a mozzarella, tomato sandwich made with homemade fennel focaccia and a fresh tomato soup with basil pesto. Then an almond, pistachio and chocolate croissant. Very yummy. Thank you Whytes team! Will definitely be back.

Discovered this absolute gem on our journey back from Aberfoyle to Newcastle, huge thanks to reviews on TripAdvisor, working at its finest! Tucked away in a quaint little courtyard, its modern, yet cosy interior is welcoming, just like its owners and staff. A family of 4, we all opted for a soup and panini combo, with 5 homemade soups on offer, all a little bit special. We tried 3 soups and all were outstanding; generous portions of tasty soups made with quality ingredients. Genuinely the best I’ve had. Same with the sandwiches, and so filling we had to take some away to eat later. We couldn’t resist, as full as we were and not being local, on sharing a couple of sweet items. We sampled several and oh my word, they were just incredible. I’m not sure anything in this place would not wow. The staff were very kind, personable and the right amount of attentive, topping up my tea pot and in their making of the kids fresh raspberry lemonade, topped with mint and fresh raspberries. What an absolute find and somewhere we will now always stop off to enjoy again. If you’re visiting Carlisle and not eating here… my goodness you are missing out!
