Good and bad reviews.. have been going to the garage for a good few years and always been happy .. I was always booked in quickly and reasonably priced. I booked in in October early for its MOT which was November. Failed and needed a new spring at the back also the registration bulbs needed replaced. They tried to replace it and the housing broke but managed to replace the other bulb. Picked up the van to my surprise the back end was up in the air. When asked about this they said because it had been lowered it would be hard to source the correct springs so fitted standard springs anyway with out considering speaking to me first also they had ordered the housing for two bulbs which I payed for but they left one completely out. Mike said the springs might settle and he would try and order the correct springs. Driving home I noticed the hill assist had stopped working. It went back into the garage to have the correct springs fitted and told them about the hill assist not working which of course Mike had to check in the book. I also had to pay for four springs as they came in a box of four again there was no communication to let me know about this. Instead of letting me know first. I had asked them on each occasion to check the battery as it was struggling to start sometimes and twice they said it was ok only to be told it wasn’t on the third time of asking. The hill assist they didn’t have a clue, I had to ask and look it up myself and obviously to me it was because the van was at a different height stopping it working in smaller inclines. Once the correct springs were put on it was fine. After this experience I will not be going back.

I never really do reviews unless its something above my expectations. Mike and his Team arw a breath of fresh air to work with. Clutch went on my Van, I drop on them last minuet.com as I live in my van full time. Clearly a busy Business, but Mike took the time out to help. Was advised of the actual problems and most importantly cost within an hour or so of dropping off by Tracey. The work got done along with some remedials and I was back in my van. No drama, no rush along with a simple explanation (I don't understand engines) of what has been done and why. Without shadow of a doubt, they have just acquired a life time customer for all works on my van. Thanks guys for looking after me. Steve

I recently booked my car into GW for a wiper-motor replacement. What went well • The service team scheduled the appointment promptly and completed the motor installation within a few hours—faster than I expected. • The wiper motor itself was replaced well. Where the experience fell short • When the car was returned, both wiper arms were noticeably misaligned—the nearside stopped roughly 3-4 inches short of the windscreen edge, the offside wiper stopped before the rear view mirror at the top - Incredibly far out from normal. • After I pointed this out, the mechanic didn't even understand why this was a problem, and I the customer, had to guide the mechanic on correct alignment. The response from the mechanic and reception team was defensive; I was told I was “asking for perfection,” even though correct alignment is a basic safety requirement. Responses such as "Other people don't care if its perfect, good enough is fine" is an appalling response to such a big error. • Insisting that I didn't buy a new part and therefore it won't be perfect is not a valid excuse to justify why wiper arms themselves are not aligned properly. That isn't the problem of the wiper motor which was replaced, that is simply a laziness/lack of knowledge problem. • I had to return the vehicle three times the same day before the issue was resolved, and an apology was only offered after I pressed for one. I was told I would never be happy, when actually just aligning wiper arms is a basic thing where even members of the public can tell if its out. It wasn't out by millimeters, it was so far out that it was inches away from the correct position. Why this matters Proper wiper positioning is fundamental to driver visibility and road safety. At the position he left it when the car was returned to me, it was leaving huge areas of water beading on the windscreen that would have hindered my visibility. I expected a trained technician to recognise and rectify the issue without customer instruction. Recommendation I hope the garage reviews its post-service checks and communication approach. A brief quality-control sweep with a more experienced member of staff and a constructive response to customer feedback would have turned this into a five-star visit. Mistakes happen, we get it, but not owning up to it combined with a lack of basic knowledge makes me question the kind of standard this garage is stiving for.
