About
This pedestrian bridge spans the River Eden, connecting walkers to Rickerby Park and Stoneyholme Golf Club. Erected alongside the Memorial Cenotaph, it serves as a key route for those exploring the riverside paths. The bridge provides access to open parkland where dogs can run freely, with views over the water and surrounding green space. Its location makes it a natural starting point for walks along the river or visits to the cenotaph. The structure is sometimes mistakenly called the suspension bridge by locals.
Customer Reviews
The Memorial Bridge, incorrectly known as the suspension bridge locally, was erected along with the Memorial Cenotaph. On 25 May 1922, Rickerby Park was formally opened and handed over to the City of Carlisle for the benefit of the public. The Hadrian's Wall National Trail also goes over this bridge and through Rickerby park.
A great footbridge on the route from Stoneyholme Golf Club to the Joint Counties Cenotaph (Rickerby Park)
