About
A hostel in the Lake District with private rooms, shared bunks, camping pods and a self-catering kitchen. There’s a bar serving beer and proper coffee, along with hearty meals. The games room and communal spaces encourage storytelling among hikers, with a fireplace adding warmth. It sits near lakes and fells, making it a practical base for outdoor adventures. The setup retains a traditional hostel feel, with a focus on simplicity and shared experiences.
Customer Reviews
This is my group of friends and I's favourite hostel in the lake district, very reasonable price and it's in a great location with short drives to lots of the great hikes. Everything runs smoothly, staff are always friendly and ask how our trip is going. Facilities there are great and its never loud at night when we've stayed there.
Been to this hostel about 8 times it always so nice to return and I am returning yet again in Jan 2025 . Yes hate the dynamic pricing as it means I can only afford to go in winter and the rooms are now a bit dated but they are fine . Great atmosphere in the hostel staff are good and the place has a chilled vibe . |Also hate the pay to park 😥 even though it’s free if your stating but as others have said I could put people off just stopping for a drink |Ryan
Has a bar and food, pods and camping aswell as the rooms shared or private. I don't understand why the pods are so expensive but if people are willing to pay it then I don't blame there pricing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Showers, toilets and self catering kitchen for all to use. Games room with pool and football table. All areas are clean and comftable. Only a small area to pitch tents next to the pods, I imagine in spring and summer it's very busy. Great location, perfect base for walking the fells. Prices are high for everything other than tent pitches but like I say if people are willing to spend it then I can't blame em.
