Mat and Leigh are just wonderful hosts. They made our stay in Keswick even more special and memorable. They are very welcoming and attentive, always full of precious advices on how to make the most out of your time in this gorgeous place. The hotel is clean, quiet, very pretty and perfectly located, breakfasts are super delicious, served in a gorgeous room, decorated with local historical photos connected to the hostess' own family... and of course Leigh's irresistible free cakes made a nice part of our walks. We definitely would recommend Allerdale House and would come back if the opportunity arises!
If your looking for an exceptional B and B in the lakes look no further, this place is off the chain. Located in a quiet street and just 8 minutes walk from the best cafe bar in the world ( Squarange ) this Lakeland guest house is just perfect. |All the rooms here are a good size with high ceilings and modern en suite bathrooms. Warm and cosy just what you need after a day walking the fells. |The breakfast is excellent , cooked fresh by Mat and served up by Leigh (the owners)|Nothing is too much trouble for these two. If you need directions for your walks Leigh has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Keswick and the the surrounding hills and mountains. So less chance of getting lost , bonus!|We have stayed here many times and cant fault anything. Even the freshly baked cakes are superb. Careful though , you could end up putting a few pounds on.|We love it and Im sure you will to. Enjoy
From communications around booking time through to departure after an amazing stay, we can only rate Allerdale House as 5*. Mat and Leigh really know how to deliver a first class experience. Everything is good; communication, accommodation, cleanliness, facilities, breakfast, guest information, location, parking... ||We've stayed twice, brought family with us the second time and they said they've never stayed anywhere as luxurious and had a marvellous stay.||Allerdale House wins hands down in a very busy market for tourists, and we wouldn't ever consider staying anywhere else. Thank you both for your care and attention to detail. You made this summer's trip really special for us all.
