About

A community hospital serving Cockermouth, this facility includes dermatology services and the Isel Ward for inpatient care. The modern building has ample parking and handles minor injuries alongside general medical needs. Staff in the dermatology department assist with procedures under local anaesthetic, while the Isel Ward team provides updates for relatives when visiting is restricted. Some patients have received treatment here for injuries like twisted knees after falls. Prescriptions are available, though availability may vary. The hospital serves as a local healthcare resource for both planned treatments and unexpected medical issues.

Had a local anesthetic operation here. All the staff at the Dermatology Sept are lovely and very helpful. The two ladies who did my op are absolute Stars. Can't rate them high enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My dad hurt his knee after he fell at the beach and twisted/jarred his knee, to the point he pretty much can't walk and it's badly swollen. Wasn't sure it's worth an A&E trip when they are so overwhelmed as it is, so tried here as open for minor injuries until 6:30pm. We arrived at 6:20pm and were told all the nurses had already gone home. Very disappointing given it was supposed to be open another 10 minutes! Appreciate we will probs need to go to A&E but was hoping maybe for crutches or strong painkillers / anti inflammatories to try and ease the pain until tomorrow when we get home to Chester as this is the last day of our holiday here. Edit: he dislocated his knee.

Most recent visit. The medical staff are amazing. Professional and helpful. The building very modern, plenty of parking. Sadly it's all let down by the reception staff who seem to go out of their way to be obnoxious, rude, un helpful and down right nasty. They might have been trained from a 1940s German training manual
