The Castle Bar is a fantastic local pub with a great selection of beers and other drinks, all well kept and regularly changing. There’s something to suit every taste, whether you’re into traditional ales or trying something new. What really makes the place stand out is the staff — friendly, knowledgeable, and always welcoming, they create a relaxed atmosphere and serve every drink with care. With its warm, community feel and consistently high standards, The Castle Bar is a place you’ll happily return to again and again. Highly recommended. 🍺

Whent for sunday dinner and we were not disappointed food is out of this world. Probably one of the best sunday dinners I've had the place is amazing and full of history 5* all the way. If there was a down side is staff could do with being more attentive and we had to ask to get a drink order same with food and dessert.

Elderly pensioner refused a seat by large female bar staff. I saw an elderly chap, helped through the door and asked if he needed a seat. The large female staff member refused to allow a seat next to a barrell with coasters on. barrells up and down the UK in pubs signify a place to drink(this one had coasters on). If you dont allow stools next to it, you need a sign, and no sarcastic gen-z language "dur of course there is no seating there as there are no seats there" which she was fired up and ready to throw out on the guy helping the pensioner. 27th Dec 2025
