Customer Reviews
Clean and modern, unfortunately I was placed in a jack and Jill room with the adjoining occupant had the TV on until midnight then sat on the phone, then had his phone alarm starting at 5:20 and going off every 20 minutes until just before 8. I should have complained and used the good night guarantee, but each time I was woken up I thought it would be the last. The other occupant wasn’t being inconsiderate as it was just regular noise, but if there’s a next time I’ll be requesting a non jack and jill room.
We booked this hotel as a stop over on our trip to the Honister Slate mine. The staff was very welcoming, they even gave a little Xmas treats to the kids! Also my daughter forgot her earing in the room. We were unable to return to pick it up and they posted it to us, even though we didn't ask for it. So thoughtful! We had a great stay and very good experience! Thanks!
Friendly staff member greeted us on check-in, which made a great first impression. The room itself was excellent – clean, tidy, and very comfortable. It’s just a shame about the Brewers Fayre next door. Unfortunately, our experience there let the stay down. The barman was quite abrupt and didn’t seem pleased that we arrived at 8pm to order food after a 6.5-hour journey. We had two coeliacs in our party, and instead of being helpful, he chose to share his views on dietary requirements, suggesting that “back in my day no one had these problems” and blaming it on kids not playing outside anymore. It was inappropriate and unprofessional. The food itself was bang average at best. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend the restaurant side based on our experience.
