About

Workington AFC is a historic football club with an ageing but well-maintained ground, known for its friendly atmosphere and welcoming supporters. The club offers hospitality packages that include pre-match meals and half-time buffets. A traditional bar serves beer on matchdays. The team competes in the Northern Premier League, drawing loyal fans who appreciate the ground’s old-school character. Plans for future redevelopment suggest changes ahead, but for now, it remains a classic non-league venue with a strong sense of community.

My favourite away ground in the NPL. Always found Workington supporters very friendly and welcoming. Fair old trip from Guiseley but always worth it for me..

Went there in the 90s under Bill Wilson and was a DISASTER. His stories however were fascinating. He said he played in goal for Liverpool and had a passionate relationship with mick wadsworth and they shared time together. They both told me that they love football but there’s one thing they said they love each other and winked. I’d like to get in contact with mick if possible

Because of the distance we travelled, we decided to buy a ticket with hospitality. ( Pre match meal, half time buffet ). Great decision. Wonderful friendly club, the chairman and directors hands on, and brilliant ambassadors of their club. The ground itself, is what football is all about for us middle aged lads. You can sense the history, and be transported back in time. In some ways it will be a shame when it gets replaced in a couple of years time, but you have to go with the times. For any football fan, a trip to Borough park is an absolute must.👍⚽️ Like it that much, we now go every year ! Being demolished at the end of the year....not much time left to visit!!
