We stayed for 4 nights and we both had the best experience ever. Where can I start, the staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and had a brilliant sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, every single dish served to perfection. The Lakes are so beautiful you had something to do every day. The rooms were spotless. The hotel is dated but we did not expect anything else for an old listed building. Take a good look around, paintings, furniture, ceilings, ornaments etc, like going on a set of Bridgerton 😊. The gardens were spectacular. We had our anniversary there and we met a lovely couple and they put the tables together and we came down for our meal and it was get like a table set for a wedding with a hugh heart put above on the window, we also got a bunch of flowers and a card. When people put pictures on here of a few cracked tiles and the older doors, why not try pics of the exquisite meals, furnishings, gardens etc. Well worth a visit. We loved it. Thank you to everyone. Had a wonderful extended stay at Ennerdale Country House. The staff were welcoming, approachable and professional. The choice of food was wonderful and portions were generous and delicious. Granted the house is looking tired in places but you can see past this with the welcome and attentiveness of the staff.
The hotel is a little tired, which is reflected in the room rates, but both the food and service are excellent.
