Just returned from a lovely weekend staying at Croft Guest House. Thanks Dave and Glenis for your kind hospitality. This is centrally located on a quiet street a minutes walk from shops bars and restaurants. It’s spotlessly clean with a luxury feel and lots of extra little touches like handmade soap, an umbrella (just in case you forget yours!) and bathrobes in the room. We enjoyed a piping hot freshly cooked breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, homemade granola, Greek yoghurt and toast. Can’t recommend this place enough it’s a little gem. Will definitely return.
Lovely stay at Croft House, we had rooms on the top floor which we were told were the "budget rooms" - one with a big bed and tiny bathroom you can just about walk around in, and the other with a tiny bedroom but a bigger bathroom. Overall very comfy rooms, although the smaller bedroom was quite exposed when you had the windows open so had to remember to close them before a shower! Fully stocked with tea making facilities and a hairdryer etc. Breakfast was great and they did excellent bacon and scrambled eggs, not the best vegan milk as it curdled in the coffee. Overall a nice stay and would recommend to anyone staying in the area although didn't feel like it was geared towards anyone on walking holidays with no place for wet/muddy boots.
From the moment we arrived this place didn't disappoint a nice warm welcome from owners. The room was beautiful nice and warm maybe a tad too warm during the night. The room decor and finished touches were done to a high quality finish. Hair dryer straightened robes and even his and her perfumes. Breakfast was of a 5 star quality..my only few issues and they are nothing but the shower kinda pulsed as it ran like maybe pressure was struggling. And there was cobwebs round the lamp mirrors and shower lightening but I wiped them away no bother. Id definitely stay again. I'm now In my second day in a different place over in ambleside and so disappointed ☹️ wish I was back at this hotel ..kind regards keep up the good work
