About

A multi-storey car park near the university, this facility provides ample space across several floors, making it a practical choice for drivers. It is known for its convenient location and ease of access, particularly for guests staying at the neighbouring Premier Inn, who often park on Level 8. Payment options include paying on exit or using the NCP app, and there are charging points available on the ground floor for electric vehicles. The car park’s straightforward layout and accessibility make it a reliable option for those visiting the area.

A good car park with loads of space across multiple floors. Hotel guests for the neighbouring Premier Inn park on Level 8. You can pay on exit (remember to pay on Level 1 because there’s no barrier) or pay via the NCP app for a cheaper rate. Oval windows provide a great frame for the city on upper levels, especially at night.

NCP are an awful establishment and a complete joke of a company. I paid for parking in full using the NCP app. There was a valid ticket for the vehicle. The only issue was that I had recently changed my number plate and forgot to update it in the app. That was my mistake and I fully accept that. However the fact remains that NCP had my money and the parking was paid for. Despite this, NCP issued me with a notice claiming I did not pay. I appealed and explained clearly that payment was made and provided evidence. Their response was to admit I had paid, yet still demand £40 as a so called gesture of goodwill. This is beyond ridiculous. Charging someone when you know full well the parking was paid for is nothing short of opportunistic. This is not about managing parking. This is about squeezing money out of customers on technicalities. It feels deliberately hostile and completely disconnected from fairness or common sense. NCP hide behind rigid processes rather than doing the right thing. Penalising paying customers over a number plate mismatch is petty, aggressive and frankly embarrassing for a company of this size. Absolutely shocking behaviour. I will avoid NCP wherever possible and strongly advise others to do the same. An awful establishment that treats its customers with contempt.

The car park was conveniently situated, and there were plenty of spaces, but it was when it came to paying for the parking that I experienced problems. I tried to pay at the machine when I returned to the car park but I couldn't find my vehicle on the system. After trying several times and then downloading the app to try and pay that way I was still unsuccessful and I had to leave as it was getting late. When I tried to pay online the next day I still couldn't find my vehicle so I had to contact the company via the online messaging service, but even that was problematic as I did not get a response until an hour after I'd started the conversation and had to continue it the next day! Thankfully on that occasion it was resolved and I was sent an invoice. However the parking cost me more than it should have done as the time I'd wasted in the car park trying to pay on site took me over into the next time block. I would not recommend this car park and I'm unlikely to use it again!
