About

A long-distance coach operator based near Piccadilly Gardens, with services connecting Manchester to cities like Birmingham and Liverpool. The station has ticket vending machines and a small shop, positioned conveniently close to Manchester Piccadilly railway station for onward travel. Coaches have charging points, and some travellers mention punctual services when unaffected by external disruptions. Announcements are made by station staff, and drivers receive occasional mentions for their handling of routes. The coaches provide standard seating without notable commentary on comfort levels in the evidence. Vending machines are available on-site.

I’ve had a really good experience with Manchester National Express and I honestly think it deserves 5 stars. From the moment of booking, everything was straightforward and easy to manage online. The website and app are simple to use, tickets are affordable compared to other travel options, and there are plenty of journey times to choose from which makes planning really convenient. On the day of travel, the coach station was easy to find, clearly signposted, and the boarding process was well organised. Staff were polite, welcoming, and always ready to assist passengers with directions, luggage, or general enquiries. I noticed that even when the station got busy, everything still ran smoothly without confusion. The coaches themselves were modern, clean, and very comfortable. There was plenty of legroom, seats reclined nicely, and the air conditioning kept the journey pleasant. Charging points and free Wi-Fi on board made a big difference, especially for a long journey, and meant I could stay connected or get some work done on the way. The drivers were professional, friendly, and reassuring. Safety was clearly a priority and you could tell they knew their routes well. The journey itself was smooth and punctual. We set off on time and arrived exactly as scheduled, which is always a plus when travelling. Overall, National Express provides a very reliable, affordable, and stress-free way to travel to and from Manchester. It’s far more relaxing than dealing with the train delays or the cost of other transport, and it gives you peace of mind knowing you’ll get to your destination comfortably and on time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable travel option, whether you’re commuting, visiting family, or travelling for leisure.

Arrived coach was an hour and quarter late nothing they could do due to an accident on the motorway. Found the coffee place very expensive 1 coffee 1 tea £7:20. If I hadn't been so thirsty I would have walked away. I'd like to say national express staff were helpful I'd be lying if I did. One man seemed to be rushing around helping customers the others were having a great laugh with each other not doing alot behind the national express counter. Make sure you have cash 30p to get into the toilets. Admittedly the ladies as that's where I went was clean and tidy. The coach station was clean and tidy and had security messages put out. I can't say I ever want to go there again.
