Scene Study Attending Scene Study is an absolute must for any professional actor who wants to learn a new approach to acting and unlearn old methods. Dan is so passionate with Practical Aesthetics acting technique that is explored in the classes. I have been attending scene study for several months and Dan is so supportive, and as an actor himself, he understands actors and knows how to get the best out of each actor in the scene. The rehearsal space is a safe place to take unsafe risks and make mistakes that actually frees the actor and is a definite win-win. I strongly recommend scene study to any actor who is serious about acting and wants to improve their craft in a trusting and supportive environment.
I did my second scene study with Dan earlier this year. After a recent dip in confidence with my work, this month could not have come at a better time for me. As an emerging actor, I'm very much still learning - and it's an absolute pleasure to be in Dan's training room and receive his support and guidance. We really bonded as a group and supported each other through the various inevitable ups and downs of the month! My scene partner and I really enjoyed working on our scene, which was cast really well to our casting types. Dan is insightful, creative and focused as a director and I've definitely come away with some new tools to add to my bag. Thanks so much! I'll be back!
This was the third time I have taken part in the scene study with Dan and PWF and it was just as fun and rewarding as the first time I did it. The sessions are always a chance to play and make mistakes in a safe and supportive environment. After every session I feel like I walk away with more tools to tackle script analysis and a rehearsal process. Dan is a great teacher, who has an ability to challenge you with different techniques and styles whilst having the patience to let you try and test the notes out. I’ve loved my time in the Play With Fire Scene Study and I can’t thank Dan enough for all the feedback and work he does, it really has taught me a lot.
