About

This Sichuan restaurant serves bold, fiery dishes that showcase authentic flavours distinct from typical Chinese takeaways. Known for its use of Sichuan peppers, fresh chilli peppers, and chilli oil, the menu features layered tastes that balance spice with depth. Dishes like fried sweet potato vermicelli with pork mince are highlights. The restaurant accommodates spice preferences, allowing adjustments to heat levels. Regulars appreciate the generous portions and the focus on traditional Sichuan cuisine, which sets it apart in Manchester’s dining scene.

Wow! Bold, fiery, authentic Sichuan dishes that are unique and so different to your regular Chinese takeaway. All the dishes pack a punch with numbingly spicy Sichuan peppers, hot with fresh chilli peppers, chilli oil and loads of fragrant garlic. We were a group of almost 20 people so got to try most of the dishes. We were surprised to find so many vegetarian options. Dishes could also be customised for veg. Price is reasonable and generous portion size. We left with both bellies and hearts full. Service is quick and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable and recommended customisation for dietary needs. I saw comments about rude staff, but we noticed they were just being practical due to limited space and long queues. Also, things often get misunderstood in translation. We returned for dinner and they couldn't have been nicer.

From the moment we stepped into Noodle Alley, we knew we were in for something special. The staff immediately made us feel welcome, greeting us with genuine warmth and attentiveness that set the tone for the entire meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, checked in at the right moments as well as ensured everything was perfect, doing it all with a friendly, approachable attitude that made our dining experience even more pleasant. The restaurant itself balances authentic Sichuan charm which created a cosy, vibrant atmosphere. We started off with their Suzuki Sharing Set, which was perfect for sampling a variety of the restaurant's sweet and savoury snack. It was truly the star of the table as each item felt like it was a mini culinary journey. From the tasty dumplings to the tender, flavour packed meat and vegetable bites, every dish showcased authentic Sichuan flavour with a perfect balance of spice, aroma and texture. It's not just food, it's an experience. Moving on to the mains, the scallion oil noodles with soy sauce were incredibly satisfying making every bite satisfying, flavourful and utterly addictive. The mapo rice was another highlight: comforting, rich and had the numbing Sichuan spice that made every spoonful addictive. Portions were generous, prices were fair, and every bite felt like a genuine taste of delight in the heart of Manchester. Whether you're a fan of bold, spicy flavours or simply seeking for comforting, freshly made food, Noodle Alley delivers on every level. It's the kind of place that makes you crave a return visit the moment you leave — a true gem that deserves every bit of praise it gets.

I’ve totally fallen in love with Noodle Alley! The food is authentic Sichuan food, I beg you don’t be fooled by those “Sichuan” food most of Chinese takeaways do. REAL Sichuan food is full of layers flavours of spicy, sweet, umami (comes from fermented soya paste/pickled vegetables)tingling sensations( comes from Chinese pepper). The hearty food is definitely prepared with love. Also the service is warm and professional. The waitress recommended a osmanthus blossom soya milk drink with fermented rice. Now this special drink has become my favourite, it’s better than high street bubble teas!
