It’s basic in the best way—clean, functional rooms with comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi that actually works reliably. No fancy spa or rooftop bar here, but that’s part of its charm; it’s perfect for travelers who want affordability without sacrificing essentials. We stayed for a weekend getaway and were impressed by the friendly staff who went out of their way to recommend local spots. The location is convenient, close to public transport and a short walk from shops and eateries. Overall, it’s great value for money if you’re not expecting luxury. Ideal for budget-conscious visitors looking for a solid, hassle-free base.

So if you read my reviews you know I spend a great deal of time on the road in the UK and the world on business and leisure. My recipes are fair. If the hotel is great then I leave positive reviews too reflect that. I have stayed in many Holiday Inns and IHG hotels. This is one of the below par ones if I am honest. It is functional. The best features is the location. That was the main reason for booking. But that is pretty much the best of it. It's very busy so whilst we were there for the nights we gave breakfast a mix as it was standing room only. The quality of the breakfast is poor so you are not missing much. It is free though. The rooms are smaller than most of the holiday Inns. The beds are really uncomfortable. Do not expect a good night's sleep. Lumpy mattress that is not pocket sprung so not great for a couple with a weight difference. If you get up later than 10am you can't expect the roomsto be made up. Even though I asked they did not clean the roomWhen I did ask again on another day the room was cleaned but not to any type of standard that is acceptable in the western world. You have to pay for parking which is a bit of a joke given it is not a central location. You front of an abandoned industrial parking lot. They didn't ask for my mental number or they would have known that I am a longstanding loyal IHG customer but I do not think that membership means anything here. You are also asked to pay a £50 security deposit. .My advice is to perhaps give it a miss if you can find another option. The only reason to stay is the location.

Stayed last week for our annual Christmas Market visit.. the rooms were superbly clean , can't say enough about the staff so friendly and helpful. Really impressed with the manager Joanne agar , she was fantastic with us .. took time put of her busy schedule to make is feel important.. to add extra the breakfast on each morning was superb .. we will staying again in the near future. I would recommend this hotel for not just a shopping trip as it only a short tram journey to the city centre.
