Booked through Expedia but looked at booking.com also - both said pay on arrival (at a higher cost) & free cancellation upto 48 hours prior to arrival. Was then hounded by the hotel directly over the phone to make payment over 2 weeks prior to arrival or threated with cancellation. Expedia said it was a scam & not to pay but hotel wouldn't listen. I called the hotel directly after being told by Expedia not to pay but the hotel staff were very intimidating & refused to listen. Ended up booking elsewhere (at a cheaper price!) because I was not putting up with this behaviour. Reported to Expedia & awaiting a reply. Avoid at all costs.

Horrific experience thanks to disgraceful management. Arrive to check in and was told there was no booking under that name. Gentleman on reception then phoned the manager who told me my room had been cancelled due to a plumbing issue and I should have received a message and refund from booking.com. I had received nothing. I was then passed over to an extremely rude and unprofessional booking manager named Carol who made it out that this had nothing to do with themselves and stated that if i wanted to stay in the room we'd booked (with no running water) i'd still have to pay more money as they have overheads they have to cover. When i stated this is not my fault and I am the customer, they made it out as though i was being unreasonable and they were trying to help by charging me to stay in disgusting room with no water. After reporting this to booking.com they informed me they had received any notification of the cancellation until a day after the original check out date. Booking.com is appalled by their actions and have expressed there deepest apologies. Disgusting hotel, Do not stay here!

I needed to check out 30 minutes after arriving the room as tiny and no TV it was not worth £78 I could have got a travellodge or premier inn with a proper bathroom and TV.  Feel pretty robbed to be honest
