Really like this PureGym. I liked it before the refurb and afterwards as well. It's really easy to access, good value, no lock-ins. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the people who use the gym seem nice and good natured. I only went in the morning and it was never overly busy (I think evenings is the busy time). I never had to wait for any machine or weights. I mainly used bikes, treadmills, the mat area, free weights. To me it seemed clean and organised. Since the refurb, I also like the women's area. Nice new equipment and weights. I felt absolutely welcome to continue in the main mixed area or to go to the women's area. There is still plenty of room for all in my opinion. The only thing I'd change is that the treadmills stop after 30 minutes (even if the gym is empty), so that is annoying if you'd like to do a longer run.
I have been going to this gym consistently for the past 3 months and really enjoying it. The atmosphere is quite good and energetic. They have got almost every kind of latest equipments in it. All the staff members are very helpful and knowledgeable. Based on my experience its the best gym in Manchester.
Rack your weights. Management needs to set the tone on this. Large Gym. Good selection of equipment. Just needs a little attention to detail.
