About
This surviving World War II anti-aircraft gun emplacement serves as a local historical marker in Urmston, with remnants of wartime defences still visible. The site connects visitors to the area’s role in Manchester’s wartime history, particularly the contributions of Urmston and Trafford Park residents. Nearby playing fields and a small park make it a practical stop for dog walkers. Though modest in size, the emplacement provides a tangible link to life in the area decades ago, with informational context best explored through further reading. The space is maintained, with some green areas surrounding the structure.

Nice memorial, area around it not very well maintained. Someone had dumped a bike there when I went.
