I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Chanel makeup counter, thanks to Caroline who assisted me. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping me find exactly what I was looking for. Her advice was honest, professional and she made the entire experience feel effortless and luxurious rather than rushed. This is customer service at its very finest, and Caroline is a true credit to the Chanel brand.
I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at this store. I visited the store to pick up medication, a routine 5-minute transaction. After paying and using the self-checkout, I left via the upstairs exit into the general car park. To my surprise, a staff member chased after me, shouting and demanding I return to the shop, falsely claiming the alarms had gone off. This was a public humiliation, with other shoppers staring as if I was a thief. In reality, there was no alarm sound, and I showed him my medication wrapped in the receipt (attached), which he insisted on verifying before finally leaving me alone. No apology was offered for this ordeal. What struck me was that I exited with several other customers the exist barriers, none of whom were targeted. It was clear I was singled out, and I believe it was due to racial profiling. This incident, which occurred less than 3 minutes after the receipt was printed (time-stamped), has left me feeling humiliated and disappointed in the prejudice displayed by this staff member. I'm hoping this behavior will be addressed and steps taken to ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity.
