The Reach at Piccadilly, Manchester, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Nice hotel and in a great location. I stayed for one night in January, and the room was perfect for one person. I did however feel the room hadn’t been cleaned as thoroughly as expected, due to a dark splash mark on the loo seat, and a lot of dust on the floor which was easy to spot from the light beams under the bed. I also found check-in to be quite poor. The lady behind the desk said around 15 words in total to me, gave no information on the room or stay, just asked for payment. Even after receiving my key I had to ask which direction to go and what floor. This hotel could be fantastic if a couple of improvements were met, and staff more thorough with their information.

Had lunch 19th January. Also wanted to get some work done. Fast wi-fi and good socket availability.|No-one took a drinks order so I stuck with tap water, which was nice and cold.|Had the beef burger; it was good. £18 so not bad.|I was given tomato ketchup sachets that were stuck together with old sticky ketchup.|I was forgotten about for a good 45 minutes after I finished lunch, so I cleared my plate myself and left it on the main high table (no-one noticed it was there until I was nearly leaving and a waitress picked it up).|I then waited for someone to come. No one did so I stood up by the desk waiting for someone and a man came and said he would send someone over. Another man came along and I said I'd like to order coffee and he said "yeah what is it?"... I assumed this meant what type of coffee so I ordered a latte. I asked if they had a dessert menu (this was not offered) and he grabbed one for me, albeit begrudgingly. He was acting like he'd been asked to do something below his pay grade. The same man had earlier been conversing loudly with the desk staff from a seated position behind his laptop which I found unprofessional for what seemed like a fairly nice hotel. It was very strange to subsequently watch 4 employees (him being one) sat around on their phones/laptops talking loudly in the middle of the floor near reception. I thought they were people on business initially but then realised they worked there.|The waiter who gave me the latte didn't know that I was given a dessert menu so didn't ask if I wanted anything. I didn't bother asking as I didn't really want to stay and they were quite expensive. He was nice and polite and asked if the burger was nice when I was paying.

With this hotel situated Directly outside the Piccadilly Train station this is the just a 5 min walk from platform to bedroom. Easy check in Professional with warm friendly staff through out the building from check in with a smile, service at the bar and Super service with the food. The Food WOW, I know that you now the hotel food sizes and prices are normally eye watering but here, it's the opposite. Great prices I mean I will challenge anyone to find food as good as this for the same price. They are Big. and really well priced. be careful what you order because there will be no room for Ice-cream. Those chips were LOADED. Thanks Tilly. Spacious and quiet rooms with Sofa almost Lounge area, great sized tv, Free Wi-Fi, Fridge and all the other creature comports. The clean presentation of the place is amazing. Yeah I would book again for a personal trip
