I've been in a few times for an excellent coffee and a great range of cakes. Today I had a really good ham and cheese toastie. Very friendly and a great location in the centre of Penrith, a good stopover if heading between England and Scotland, 3 hours free parking at Sainsbury's.
They are too strict with their sit in and out policy. We wanted to take out, we received our food heated and were still waiting for the coffee. They have a small bar with stools so we sat and started to eat our pasties to wait for the coffee which is usual in other places, there were two other people at the counter inside so not busy at all. 5 mins in we were told about the eat in and out policy, so we stood up and then 5 mins later they interrupted our conversation and we were told to stop eating or wait outside in the cold so we walked out without the coffee. Relax on the policy there.
Had Bacon and egg sandwiches and coffee. Amazing food and friendly and great service. Beautiful place with great atmosphere.
