This morning the 10th October I have tried to contact Burbeck Medical group to make an appointment for my partner, who has been un well for the last two week, to see a Doctor. I began calling at 0830 and gave up having failed to get through after 20 minutes at 0850. The line is constantly engaged and during the 20 minutes that I tried to contact the group I have dialled the number 120 times. I then considered E mailing but find the the practice does not allow E mail contact but you can create and sign in to an account. I have attempted to do this only to find that my E mail address has to be verified before I may make contact and that this will take until 20th October. Clearly this service is terrible and it is not acceptable that a patient cannot make contact with their Doctor.
Unable to get to see a dr..despite having complex medical problems..very much left to fend for myself with no support..should have a named dr for continuity but not aware if I have.. Constant pain I just have to cope with.. All contact done on phone..even physio.. I feel I am a nuisance to them if I need help
Patient confidentiality amongst mere admin staff is appalling. They know who they are. It’s beyond shocking that they discuss ANYTHING about patients with their own family & friends…which in turn is spread further amongst others. People like that should not be in a position of trust. Penrith is a small place and gossip travels fast. I would most definitely NOT recommend Birbeck if you value the privacy of your health/medication/medical history.
