About
A café set near Keswick with views over a walled garden, known for its homemade scones, rarebit, and afternoon tea. The modern building sits close to walking routes around the lake and Catbells, with parking that includes a voucher towards café purchases. Visitors can explore the garden, which features alpacas and a greenhouse. The menu includes egg custard tarts, salmon eggs hollandaise, and a selection of cakes. Some find it a welcome stop after hikes or lakeside walks.
Customer Reviews
Cant wait to return! Food was amazing quality and huge selection of cakes. Staff were really friendly. We did visit in winter so the walled garden only had a few bits in it.
What a lovely country spot ! Would have loved to walk around a bit more but was restricted by my pooch at hand who is not the best in doggy crowds. So based on this: Great venue and food. I had the salmon eggs hollandaise that was great. Would have preferred thin sliced smoked salmon laid in whispers over the eggs as a delicate balance to the dish but not overpowering. Service was great with a good vibe all round.
Found this place accidentally but what a gem. You pay £5 to park but get a voucher for £4 to use in the cafe. It’s a beautiful walk up to the cafe, the staff were very friendly & we had the best egg custard tart ever.
