Customer Reviews
I was really impressed with this place. We booked it around a week prior after our previously booked hotel decided to close down for refurbishments without notifying us so we booked it a bit last minute and presumed we would be stopping somewhere not too great, especially given the price. How wrong we were. This is a great place to stop, especially for the price. We paid £160 for 2 nights. That's £80 a night for 2 of us. Compared to other places in Keswick this is an amazing price. We did have to book a 2 day minimum but that was perfect for us.||Upon arrival we collected our room key from a coded key box and made our way inside. This means we had no booking in time to aim for to catch a service desk and we could take our time travelling over. In fact, we didn't expect to see any staff all trip however we did bump into the owner as we were leaving on our last day. He was very helpful, even offering us further services for the day such as holding onto our bags or extending our parking. Speaking of parking, the owners were able to add our registration onto an exception list meaning we got free parking in the 3 main Keswick car parks (the previous time we came to Keswick we stopped at one of the more popular, well known inns and they didn't even offer that service despite being considerably more expensive). ||If we hadn't have bumped into the owner as we were leaving we wouldn't have seen any staff at all which would be perfect if you have any anxieties in that respect. We wouldn't have thought there was any staff working there if our room hadn't been cleaned on the second day.||As for the room, it was quite small. The bed took up the majority of the room but what do you expect? It was perfect for our needs and no different to the majority of any other lodgings. It had complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate and it even had a fridge with fresh milk in... and I may have added some beer.||We didn't have a bath, just a shower but I'm a shower kind of person anyway so that didn't bother me. ||Overall, this was a decent place at a great price, in a great location, with really helpful staff and they even provide parking. Definitely one to consider returning to.
Just returned from a pleasant albeit wet weekend in Keswick and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ravensworth house. Parking was all sorted for us, check in was a breeze, and our room was cosy and spotlessly clean! Jason the owner was really nice and welcoming. Keswick can be really expensive but Ravensworth was great value for the cost. We spend a lot of time in the area and have definitely found our new base! See you soon. Lou & Jen xx
30/01/26 . . . 2 people . . . Double room 2 nights Found Ravensworth House on Booking.com. Very central and only 5 mins walk to the many central restaurants and bars. Free parking provided in a nearby car park. We chose this place for the high review ratings and price compared to other properties available on these dates. The price point was very reasonable (£80 per night if booking on their own website, not Booking.com who wanted more !!!) whilst other properties wanted up to £200 and beyond for one night We stayed in room 8 on the third floor of the building. Waking up after the 1st night we did not have water pressure nor hot water. We informed the owners Jason & Allison. Super service recovery and we were immediately offered a ground floor suite to continue our stay whilst a faulty water pump within the property required attention . . . these things happen unfortunately but no problem. A genuine place offering great value for money and the nicest hosts you could wish to meet
