I just spent two fantastic nights away and I can't rate this place highly enough! The food was top-notch, especially the Venison Cottage Pie—so delicious and hearty. The staff made us feel right at home, greeting us warmly and checking in on us throughout our stay. The atmosphere was lovely, clean, and it just felt like a perfect little getaway. I’d definitely come back, even to try more of the vegetarian options on the menu!
Fantastic little Inn. Stayed for one night between Lake District activities at honister and buttermere. Around a 30 minute drive from both. Across the road from bassenthwaite lake which was perfect to cool down in after an active day.We stayed in room 25 which was delightful! Perfect for a family of four. Lovely little communal garden with a picnic bench. Easy parking. Staff lovely, and food was great! Will definitely return!
Great Inn close to Bassenthwaite Lake. Rooms clean and comfortable with usual amenities & fabulous cooked breakfast - only downside is the 10:30am checkout. Food excellent in the dining room but very busy, even on a Tuesday in February. Booking a table for an evening meal is encouraged Highly recommend a visit in late winter / early spring before the mass of tourists take over the Lake District. On site staff all very friendly.
