The menu includes Sunday lunches and dishes like stuffed options, with chips frequently mentioned as a standout. Parking is available on-site, though spaces are compact. The establishment sits near a lake, adding to its surroundings.
Customer Reviews
Booked a table for two over the phone, employee who answered was friendly and courteous. Parking was reasonable, spaces could be bigger but you can't escape physics and the owners can only work with the land they have. Were advised where to sit by a nice gent at the bar and given menus. My brother and I both ordered the well regarded mixed grill and an ice cream later on. Food took roughly 20ish minutes from order to table. As the mixed grill portion is fairly substantial we both asked if we could have our leftovers boxed up to take home, which as a nice surprise we weren't charged for. Server forgot the remainder of our sweet potato fries but that's a only a small gripe. Both of us couldn't knock the quality of the food, service, location, or price. I was recommended this place by locals and I can see why. Really happy with my visit here and in turn would highly recommend it myself. Well done to everyone involved!
Very nice place to stay. Food in the evening in the restaurant was excellent and the service was first class. Bit of a wait for breakfast in the morning, but this was because it was obviously cooked fresh and it was worth the wait. Local ingredients and tasted amazing. Room was spacious and clean, but I found the bed a bit uncomfortable and creaky and the shower wasn’t as hot as like, but the wife had no problems with it so maybe it’s just me!! The place itself gets 5 stars all round, but you can’t help some of your fellow residents…noisy, banging doors late into the night and the individual next door snoring so load that I thought he was in bed with is!!! Will definitely be returning in the future.
Went for a family meal, 6 of us which included 2 big lads with healthy appetites. The food was fine but there was only 1 dish of chips for the 6 of us. A few weeks earlier 2 of us got almost, the same amount of chips . We commented on this to the waitress and asked if it would be possible to have extra chips. I did hear her say, I'll see. But there were no more chips forthcoming. I noticed an adverse comment about salty pies. My pie experience of a few weeks ago was of overbaking. It was a large portion, half of which I took home and discovered the pastry was burned black on the inside. These are minor things at one of my favourite local eateries. Hope to be back next week.
