About

A weekly improv comedy night featuring rotating acts, Manchester Improv Wednesdays showcases quick-witted performances from groups like Stupid and Improv Island Discs. The shows include formats such as twoprov acts like Toothache by Barnish & Carmichael, blending spontaneous humour with audience suggestions. Known for its sharp, fast-paced routines, the night regularly leaves crowds in stitches with unpredictable sketches and playful interactions. The cast’s ability to riff off unexpected prompts—like the suggestion of "messiah"—keeps the energy fresh. It’s become a staple for midweek laughs in the city’s comedy scene.

I thoroughly loved, laughed and enjoyed Manchester Improv Wednesday's show. The Improv group: Stupid, and Improv Island Discs were both truly fantastic, witty and funny. The cast know how to make an entrance, weave Improv scenes and great set pieces. I'd recommend Manchester Improv Wednesdays to anyone.

It was a hard night when I first came here. My life was in danger, pursued by the spectre of my own failures. And all through the house. They tormented me, mocked my unsteady countenance as it wavered in their glow. There was not a noise, not even a mouse. And yet, I held firm posture. Though disrupted by the soundless echoes of a dead winter's hollow screams, I stood my ground, and all thanks to Manchester Improv Wednesdays.

A great way to spend our Wednesday. My family and I left with our stomachs hurting no from laughing. Congrats to Uncle Thomas for the suggestion of “messiah”.
