Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Managers Julian and Matt were welcoming and listened to our complaint and dealt with it promptly. Location is brilliant in the centre of Manchester. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower was powerful. Super rooms are on the top floor and you don't hear any outside noise. The key cards kept randomly stopping so you have to get it reset at reception every day which is annoying. Security guy on the door was pretty clueless and had his paperwork and radio on the heater that was on. Despite the manager telling him to stop doing it he didn't listen and carried on regardless. He also kept asking everytime we got back if we were checking in. He's seen us multiple times so why keep asking. Overall a decent stay but some issues to sort out.
Rating 3 star hotel, not expected service of 5star hotel but few issues are not acceptable. 1. Cards which need to be used to open any door don't work properly. Its unacceptable to stand at the door and not being able to enter. 2. Free wifi for 30 min. Wifi free access should be available at any time. Weird suddenly inside the building our regular network didnt work so we were forced to pay for wifi. 3. No fresh air in the rooms. Windows cannot be open at all. 4. Heavy urine smell when entering the room. Location is great, but in the evening not very comfortable with alot of homeless and drugs. Paid extra for choosing room. That was our "view"
Stayed here last night as we were going to a gig and it was cheaper than getting an Uber there and back (and we only live about 6 miles away !). Very clean room, clean bedding, warm comfortable room. Very convenient location. Can't complain for the cost. Would definitely stay again. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. No issues.
