Nice Location and spacious cottage. Access to all the amenities around the town.||Bed in Room 1 is really low quality. Extremely poor for even a child who might be 20 kgs as the springs poke and back hurts the wooden frame. |another issue is the cottage is a semi-detached property so the noise reaches to the neighbour who would knock the door immediately. So if you are just looking to book for sleeping-in (which you could get a cheap hotel with breakfast) then book it, otherwise if you are planning to book for a few families to enjoy in the cottage, might not work out as after 10.30, there is no noise policy.
Lovely house, beautifully decorated . Very comfortable and welcoming hosts. All in all a perfect stay Room 5 18th to 23 October 2021 Thank you will definitely be back .
We felt like guests, even family, during our one-night stay at Fern Lee. Our rooms were roomy, comfortable, and lovely. Our hosts went above and beyond in their flexibility, thoughtfulness and hospitality. My family continued their hike but due to a medical issue that required me to stop hiking I was able to check in early. They provided transportation for me and my family and in all ways made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious. We were so impressed by our hosts, our lodging and all they did to make sure we were well fed and well taken care of that we plan to return next year to use Fern Lee as a base lodging for several days so we can spend more time in Carlisle (a delight!) and taking day trips so I can hike some of the Wall Path areas I missed.
