About
A guest house in Carlisle with period charm, Langleigh is known for its hospitality and as a base for walkers tackling Hadrian’s Wall Path. The owners, Norman and Yvette, serve extensive breakfasts including omelettes and Arnold Bennett variations, with evening meals available on request. Rooms feature antique-style furniture while maintaining modern comfort. The house has a reputation for welcoming conversation with hosts, particularly over meals. Walkers often stay here at the start or end of their route along the wall.
Customer Reviews
I had a 2 night stay at Langleigh Guest House using this as a base to start my Hadrians Wall Path walk from. Arriving on a Thursday I enjoyed a marvellous evening meal and conversation with Yvette who is a trained chef and husband Norman. A full breakfast the following morning set me up well for the start of my walk from Bowness on Solway back to Carlisle and Langleigh House and likewise for the second morning of the walk. ||In short good old fashioned hospitality and service from two lovely people in a characterful B & B .
A lovely old house full of charm. Beds were comfortable, shower was lovely and breakfast omelettes were outstanding. They also do evening meals but sadly we knew we were going to arrive too late after a 40km fundraising walk along Hadrian’s Wall. Hosts were charming and very understanding when we forgot our key. And they made a very generous donation to our charity. Highly recommended.
Had a great time staying here. Norman is the ideal host, loved chatting with him over the massive breakfasts he would cook. Stayed for the first two nights of the walk.
