Customer Reviews
Visited this place for lunch earlier this week. It was a dreary Wednesday and very quiet inside. While we were there my wife and I shared 4 pints of ale, the Cumberland sausage and mash, and the Herdwick stew. All I can say is the food was absolutely excellent; probably the best pub food we've had in the last 18 months. The young lady that attended to us was so nice too, you just knew she was a proper hard worker. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed
Stopped for lunch in Penrith on my way from Glasgow to Marlborough. We chose this pub because it looked very authentic. It’s a lovely place with a lot of history, and they even say it’s haunted! The food was very good, tasty, and with many options. The waitress who served us was very kind, but she was working alone and that made everything quite slow.
Food was lovely but an absolute shambles of a place we booked a table for 8pm arrived early then told it would be an hour wait for food even though it wasn't that busy they had a band on Which helped kill the boredom of waiting but turned out they only had 1 person in the kitchen and the person taking bookings wasn't telling the other staff they were taking the bookings leading to mass unorganisation and massive wait times for food wont be back again in a hurry
