About
A traditional pub with rooms in central Penrith, the Station Hotel serves hearty meals including Sunday lunches with large portions. The bar has a selection of red wines and beers. Rooms are compact but comfortable, some with views of Penrith Castle, and include hot showers. Parking can require navigating the one-way system. The pub occasionally faces kitchen closures but is known for its welcoming service when open. Guests have noted the convenience for overnight stops on longer journeys.
Customer Reviews
I was here the first time in 2013 and the second in May 2025, both for one night on my way to Glasgow. The stuff is very friendly, unfortunatly when I was there no food was served due to kitchen technical issues. The house could need a renovation but its charming on the other hand. The location is great with some Pubs/Restaurants and Fastfood a short walk away and the Train station around the corner. But the castle ruin outside makes this place really special. I would come back here again when I want to explore the lake district soon.
Good central but quiet location. Lovely people in a friendly pub. Great choice of red wine reasonably priced. Small but comfy room, hot shower:)
