Popped over to Cockermouth from Keswick on a Wednesday afternoon. Warning ... most pubs only open mid to late afternoon midweek. This CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub opened at 3pm and soon started to fill. Split over 3 levels this is a great real ale pub. Had a pint of Coniston brewery 3.6% Bluebird bitter, one of my all time favourites. ( also had Loweswater Gold .another all time fave)
Brilliant pub. Great range of beers and good price too. Nice these days ! Friendly barman. Nice atmosphere Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town
