Waverley Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay! It was a last-minute decision, and I’m so glad we chose this hotel. The staff were absolutely lovely and made us feel really welcome. We had dinner in the evening, which was delicious, and breakfast was just as good. The only small issue was some noise from the room next door, but the team sorted it out straight away and even compensated us. Couldn’t ask for better service — we’ll definitely be coming back!

To say it was a disappointing stay would be an understatement. We checked in after 8 hours of travelling for a relaxing getaway to reset. We were told at check in that there was a party that would be happening in the evening until 11:30pm so we would hear music. We thought this wouldn't be too bad so went along with it. Popped out for dinner and came back to incredibly loud party music. So loud it was shaking the floor and rattling everything on the table. We couldn't even hear each other talking. An early night as we planned was out of the question. We decided to sit on our phones in bed until it was over. Couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable the bed was. It didn't feel like enough space for 2 adults and it seemed to slope off to the sides. True to their word, the music stopped dead on 11:30. We thought we could finally get rest but this is where the real problem started. The party goers were all leaving and it seemed like one of them went into the room next to us. The walls were so thin we could hear their conversations. From 11:30 until we checked out at 9am we didn't sleep a single minute as all we could hear was them talking, walking around with heavy footsteps, having a certain type of fun multiple times loudly and some arguments thrown in there. I called front desk at 1am about this but there only seemed to be a maintenance man in who said he would have a walk around. Of course, as soon as he went to investigate they went quiet. After he left they started again. I left the room at around 2/3am to try and find someone. I found the same man who walked with me around to see if he could hear anything but again, they went quiet. When we checked out in the morning we explained the situation and the manager let us know that she had been informed of this. She offered a full refund for our troubles. We ended up cutting most of the activities out of that day due to tiredness. We still haven't heard any word about a refund despite emailing them for a follow-up. Would not recommend at all. The stay at that hotel turned the whole trip into a very unpleasant experience.
