Customer Reviews
Near to train station, went due to other reviews. Perhaps minday isnt the best day to go though, most taps were dry. Had an average pint of wainwrights. I understand it's no longer a marstons pub but is still a tied house.
Turned up at 2pm Sunday for a quick drink before catching a train and was denied entry by a lady who said, "it is locals only today!". What an awful welcome to this great British city. Luckily, other more welcoming establishments are available!
I've always been a fan of this place. It's a proper pub, no pretentiousness just decent drinks and a good atmosphere. It's easy to completely miss it, behind the station, but it's worth a stop.
