About

A budget hotel in a converted old house with clean rooms and comfortable beds, known for its convenient location near the airport and central Manchester. Continental breakfast is served, and some guests mention the welcoming staff. The building retains character, with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms. It occasionally hosts visitors looking for an affordable place to stay while visiting family in the area.

For a budget price hotel, I had no complaints whatsoever. The room was clean. The bed was excellent with decent cotton linen. It's a great location for the airport or anywhere around south & central Manchester. Plenty of parking space. Breakfast as an extra was perfectly good as well. If you're someone who wants fancy luxury and a swanky modern TV then maybe it's not for you, but for an overnight stay in Manchester which has gotten ridiculously expensive, it's a good affordable option.

I would have given zero stars if possible. Family members travelling from a distance, had booked a room by telephone months ago, for a family get together in Timperley at the beginning of December. On arrival there at 5.30pm on the date, they were told “sorry we have bad news for you”. Someone had booked on line earlier that day and had been given their room. The lady on reception eventually found a room for them at a different b&b in Sale (more expensive) and gave them cash to make up the difference. Thank goodness they found this out at 5.30pm and didn’t leave it until later that night to check in. Disgraceful that this was such a shambolic booking system. Eskdale had made minimal efforts to contact them and weren’t particularly apologetic. Never again - lesson learned.

Time for this place to be delisted from booking.com or closed down in general. It is DREADFUL. My husband stayed there at the weekend as he had stayed a while ago and said he was very welcoming and lovely staff. He was so shocked and annoyed at the current state of it and the attitude of the woman who was there on his arrival. She was curt and very unwelcoming. He never saw her again over his two night stay, in fact he didn't see any staff at all during that time. He remembered the room he had had breakfast in on a previous visit and had a look in. There was plaster hanging from the ceiling and it was in a state. The website says continental breakfast is served or extra for cooked. There is NO breakfast or food of any sort. There is clearly no thought given to safety of guests. The door of his room was a fire door, as is required, but it didn't shut unless you pulled it hard. Not the point of a fire door! Please do avoid this place.
