If you are planning to park your car in the on street bays that are directly on Major Street itself, please be aware that these bays are NOT associated with the SIP car park of the same name. I mistakenly googled “Major Street car parking” and this was the first result to come up, leading me to believe that the on-street spaces themselves were SIP parking bays. I paid on the app following the signage and was greeted with a parking charge notice to the sum of £25 from Manchester City council. I appealed the charge only to be told that the on-street bays were not associated with SIP in any shape or form. As far as I can tell from the PCN the only way to pay for the on street parking is through a pay and display ticket machine (that I conveniently didn’t see at the time of parking). Please learn from my mistake and locate the Manchester City council pay and display meter if you plan on parking anywhere down Major Street that ISN’T the car park itself. I have also included a pic of the updated signage correlating to the actual SIP car park on Major Street as I noticed the pictures from other reviewers are now out of date.
Car park i Manchester, just behind Polish Consulate. I always use it when I am going to Consulate. Prices not very expensive. You can start pay from thirty minutes. Entry and exit are very narrow but still good place to park.
Convenient location in the centre of town. Marked down though as it doesn’t feel like SIP value their customers. Parked here recently and from the angle I looked at the sign, it looked like 4 hours was £6. Paid my fee but when I got back to the car, I realised I’d underpaid by £2 as it should have actually been £8. Grid lines around the prices would be an easy fix so you can follow the line along from whatever angle you look at it. I immediately emailed SIP to try and pay the £2 (after struggling to find any contact details) and got not response, yet a fine was quickly sent to me. Incredibly disappointing that you make a genuine mistake and try and do the right thing and get penalised for it.
